What we need from a Media Director
As a Media Director, you play a pivotal role in leading, managing and executing full funnel media activities for select client accounts. You will be partnering closely with your account management, project management, brand and digital strategy, and creative team members. We are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. A person who is proactive with ideas and solutions, who will push the team for the best work possible, and wants to lead and advocate for smart change. Someone who is a hard worker, a team player, a mentor and a good delegator. You must have a positive attitude and be an amazing cultural addition. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and executing all media strategy, planning and buying for your assigned accounts
- Researching, identifying and presenting all relevant media trends and innovations
- Meeting with clients on a regular basis regarding media and marketing objectives, proposals, plans, buys and analysis
- Planning for and utilizing media resources and subscriptions
- Working with account and strategy leads on developing KPIs, strategies and marketing plans, as well as personas, consumer journeys and other strategy deliverables
- Partnering with creative team during campaign concepting, providing ideas, inspiration and feedback
- Leading the development and presentation of post-buy analysis and reports, ensuring data translates into actionable insights and observations
- Supporting the new business team, developing media content for proposals and pitch presentations when needed
- Insuring high quality of all media deliverables, and a smooth and consistent workflow for your assigned accounts
- Training, mentoring and informing media planners and coordinators that report to you
- Insuring media flowcharts, buy authorizations and insertion orders are completed for every buy you are responsible for
- Insuring monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reconciliations are taking place for all your media buys
- Using Advantage Software for importing, invoicing, reconciling all media buys
- Maintaining a strong, professional rapport with media vendors/representatives
- Supporting an open and honest work environment, and providing clear, constant communication with team and client
- Completing other duties deemed necessary to support the agency
Ideal experience for a Media Director
- 10+ years of agency media planning and buying experience
- Traditional and digital media, including programmatic, paid social and search
- Proficiency with web, media analytics and reporting tools and/or outputs
- Proficiency with excel/google sheets, including pivot tables and data visualization
- Resonate, MRI, Scarborough experience is preferred
- Advantage Software experience is also a plus
- An ability to understand, motivate and support all team members with a positive, can-do attitude
- Superior attention to detail and organization

What it looks like to be a team member at Preston Spire
- This position is based in Minneapolis
- We embrace a hybrid work model, with three days in the office (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two days remote (Tuesday and Friday)
